Each pay period you need your employees' hours in a form you can check in Excel or import into your payroll system. You need the Payroll Reports feature.
Export hours for payroll
- Select Insights > Payroll > Employees Hours Export. It lists the employee name, division, department, pay rate, and regular and overtime hours, laid out for importing into a payroll system.
- Choose the Stores and set From and To to the pay period.
- Set the Format to Excel and select View now (or choose View to look on screen first).
- Open the file in Excel to check it, or import it into your payroll system. Check your payroll provider's import instructions for the layout it expects.
See the detail behind the hours
Employees Hours (also under Insights > Payroll) shows the detail: store, employee, title, payroll ID, clock-in and clock-out times, regular and overtime hours, and the stores the time was worked at and charged to. Use it to answer "why does this employee have this many hours?".
Make it automatic
Use the Schedule tab on the report to have the export emailed after each pay period. See Scheduling a Report.
